Unfortunately I haven't run a real good roll of film through it to see how good the lens is or how far my focusing skills have become. All the film so far has either been cheap and grainy or expired and grainy. Oh sorry I have run a few rolls of black and white through but those were all pushed and I don't think I ever shot the lens wide open. Anyway expired film frustrates me oh so often.

For the past few weeks I've been able to use a film rangefinder and I've got to say it's been a fun and different experience from the usual slr/dslr. First, it's a lot smaller and lighter than the film slr and dslr that I've been using. Operating it is nice and smooth. Since there isn't a mirror it's a lot quieter and a bit more stable when taking a picture. Less noise means a bit less attention when taking a photo and that part I'm really down with. Focusing did definitely take some time to get used to and this one part that some people might have problems with. If your eyesight is getting a bit bad or if you wear glasses sometimes focusing can be a bit of a problem. I have both those problems and on occasion focusing took me a bit longer than I would've liked. I'm also not really sure on how accurate the focusing will be with a faster lens but since I don't have a fast lens this doesn't matter much to me. I've already posted a few taken with it and I'll post a few more. So far pretty much every photo that I've taken could've also been taken with an slr and I'm not really sure if there will be a difference in types of photos taken but I guess so far I'm feeling that I can get in a bit closer just because it's not as loud.

Every once in a while I'll lose a sock in the wash. It'll just disappear. Sometimes I'll find it again even if it's days or weeks later and sometimes I never ever find it again.

After 10 years (for the most part) Jeff Mangum is touring this summer/fall. I'm stuck on the opposite of the world. This sucks.
